Each year in the Fall the McMaster First Nations Student Association holds it's annual Welcoming Powwow on campus outside the John Hodgins Engineering building.
The event provides McMaster students with an opportunity to learn more about indigenous culture and gives local First Nations students insight into post-secondary life. The Powwow was open to all members of the community and featured dance performances, traditional cuisine and talks from members of the University’s Indigenous Studies Program
