I am Anishinabe, from Wikwemikong, Ontario on Manitoulin Island. I completed my B.A at McMaster University with a major in History and minor in Indigenous Studies. My interests are helping Indigenous youth work towards decolonization and cultural resurgence. I was raised with both of my parents being fluent in the Anishinabek language. I strongly believe in enhancing the Ontario elementary education system by working towards creating curriculum that conveys an accurate portrayal of Indigenous people’s history and culture. My M.A research will include integrating Indigenous Knowledge within contemporary education systems.
