Topics in the Christian Literature and Thought of Late Antiquity: Themes

De Trinitate established the terms within which subsequent Western Christian thinking about the doctrine of God was to take place. Particular attention will be given to Augustine's understanding of the relation between hermeneutics and theology in the development of the doctrine of the Trinity, and to his understanding of the soteriological implications of the doctrine.
