Connect with alumni working in economics, analytics and business

New virtual career event allows Social Sciences students to connect with alumni working across the country. No need to come to campus - a personal device is all you need!

Jan 09, 2019

The Office of Experiential Education (EE) is collaborating with the Student Success Centre (SSC) to provide undergraduate Social Sciences students an opportunity to have a virtual Career Conversation with up to four McMaster Economics grads currently working in fields of economics, analytics and business. The event is open to students in all Social Sciences programs.

This virtual version of the popular Career Conversation series allows for easier interaction for both alumni and students, as they can just ‘drop-in’ during the time of the event and chat online from any personal device, from wherever they may be.

Virtual Career Conversation: Economics, Analytics & Business

Wednesday, January 16

4:30 – 5:20pm

Students will have the option to ‘wait in line’ for a chatroom (text only, no video) for the professional(s) they would like to speak to, and can have up to four 10-minute “conversations” with any of the following:

  • Economist, Aboriginal Programs Division, Fisheries and Oceans Canada
  • Economist, Consumer Prices Division, Statistics Canada
  • Senior Business Consultant, Sunlife Financial
  • Partner Solutions Professional, Microsoft

Students can chat with one or more professionals. We encourage students to gain multiple perspectives and make the most of this unique networking opportunity.
