SOC SCI 2EL0 is a tuition-free, non-credit course that is noted on the official transcript.

This 6 week, 12 hour course will engage you in a variety of hands-on exploration activities to provide you with a strong foundation for your career and future planning. The goal of the course is to help you better understand the skills that you have acquired in your academic studies, extra-curricular activities and summer jobs, relate to career choices and job searching. You'll be introduced to tools, methods and resources that will help you in your decision making now and in the future.

Soc Sci 2EL0 misconceptions debunked 

  1. MYTH: SOC SCI 2EL0 is only for students in level two and/or who want to complete an internship.

    FACT: This course is available to Social Sciences student in level two or above who would like to gain invaluable skills for career success – whether it’s to help prepare you for a summer job, an internship or that first job after graduation!
  2. MYTH: I already have a full course load, so I can’t register for SOC SCI 2EL0 right now.

    FACT: SOC SCI 2EL0 is just six weeks long and zero units, with no exam. It can be taken along with your regular course load (and it’s tuition-free!).
  3. MYTH: I’ve already done a career workshop, so I won’t learn anything new.

    FACT: The content is specifically tailored to Social Sciences students. Plus, this course will provide you with a wealth of resources for all stages of your career path.
