Public lecture: Refugee policy in Brazil: historical overview and current challenges

When: Wednesday, October 24, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Speaker: Julia Bertino Moreira, Visiting Professor, Federal University of ABC in Sao Paulo, Brazil

About the Talk: Prof. Moreira`s talk will discuss refugee policies in Brazil from a historical point of view. In particular, it will focus on how in the last few decades, these policies were designed and implemented. It will highlight relations between bureaucratic and governmental bodies, the UNHCR, and civil society institutions. It will also address national legislations regarding migrants and refugees.
