McMaster’s Faculty of Social Sciences welcomes the Ambassador of Lithuania

The Faculty of Social Sciences at McMaster University was pleased to welcome His Excellency, Ambassador Meilûnas, Ambassador of Lithuania to Canada, during his visit to campus on November 3, 2025.
The visit highlighted shared interests in research collaboration and academic opportunities between McMaster University and universities in Lithuania.

Ambassador Meilûnas was hosted by Dr. Megan Brickley, Professor in the Department of Anthropology, who led a tour of the Centre for Integrated Bioarchaeological Research in Health, Diet, Disease & Migration (Bioarch-HDDM) – a hub for interdisciplinary research co-led by Brickley. Dr. Tristan Carter, Chair of the Department of Anthropology was also present to welcome the Ambassador and discuss strengths of the department in European research.
The Ambassador also met with Dr. Katherine Cuff, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr. Jim Dunn, Associate Dean, Research, to discuss areas of mutual interest and potential for future collaboration in research.
“We were honoured to host Ambassador Meilûnas and share some of the innovative work happening within our Faculty,” said Dr. Cuff.
McMaster’s Faculty of Social Sciences continues to strengthen its global connections by engaging with international partners, creating new opportunities for research collaboration, and sharing expertise that addresses pressing global issues.
