Bounce at McMaster, a new mental health initiative

Introducing Bounce at McMaster – a new mental health initiative to build resilience

Bounce at McMaster is a series of podcast interviews of faculty and alumni about mental health and resilience, based on a similar successful project at the University of Victoria.

Oct 08, 2021

Bounce at McMaster, a new mental health initiative, launched this month at the university.

Bounce at McMaster is an initiative funded by the Okanagan Committee. They use diverse and real stories, told by McMaster faculty and alumni about their experiences as students, with a vision of building campus-wide resilience.

Organizers believe that by sharing stories through podcasts and videos, they can build a stronger sense of connection throughout the campus and help students, faculty and staff, learn from the stories of others who have been through challenging experiences.

The stories deal with loss, grief, relationship difficulties, transitions, mental health problems, and more.

Catharine Munn, assistant dean, resident affairs, Faculty of Health Sciences, has interviewed FSS faculty, including Tracy Prowse and Mat Savelli for the first series.
