The Canadian Housing Evidence Collaborative has been shortlisted in the CMHC Housing Supply Challenge

The challenge brings together experts across Canada to propose innovative solutions that address barriers to housing supply and affordability.

Apr 27, 2021

The Canadian Housing Evidence Collaborative (CHEC) is excited to announce its participation in the CMHC Housing Supply Challenge. This challenge brings together experts across Canada to propose innovative solutions that address barriers to housing supply and affordability. As a shortlisted candidate, CHEC is developing a Housing Data Centre to retain a unique catalogue of Canadian administrative housing data. This data will enable policymakers, researchers, and government stakeholders to answer critical and timely research questions on Canada’s affordable housing supply. Specifically, it will remedy gaps in our understanding of the available stock of affordable rental units, where we are losing them, and where we have room to grow.
