PhD Students
Department of Anthropology

I completed my B.A. Honours at the University of Manitoba and my M.A. at the University of Waterloo. Over the course of these degrees, my research involved a statistical spatial analysis in GIS of two Paleo-Inuit tent rings and an analysis of material abandoned by members of the Franklin Expedition for evidence of Inuit interaction with it.

For my PhD research, I have moved outside the Arctic. My research examines the patterns and changes in commemoration of children in Cambridgeshire, England and rural communities in Scotland and Ontario from the late 19th- and early 20th-centuries. This research will provide insight on the circumstances that affect individual choice as well as emerging trends in coping with the death of children.
