Political Science Professor Thomas Marois granted EAEPE Best Book Award

Thomas Marois, professor of Political Science, was granted an award for his book Public Banks: Decarbonisation, Definancialisation and Democratisation.
The 2023 Joan Robinson Prize was granted by the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE), a pluralist scholarly association in the area of institutional/evolutionary economics and political economy.
The Cambridge University Press book examines how public banks can confront the crisis of climate finance and catalyse a green and just transition. The author explores six case studies across the globe, demonstrating that public banks have acquired the representative structures, financial capacity, institutional knowledge, collaborative networks, and geographical reach to tackle decarbonisation, definancialisation, and democratisation.
