She graduated from McMaster University with a combined Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Peace Studies, before earning her Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a concentration in litigation from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and practicing as an Attorney.

As a newly elected Member of Parliament, Ruby is beginning to make a name for herself. Ruby co-chairs the newly formed all-party Entrepreneurs Caucus and was elected Vice-President of the Canada-India Friendship Group. She is also a member of three House committees.
