The Faculty of Social Sciences has a strong foundation in community engaged research.
We are committed to taking a collaborative research approach to improving people’s lives, contributing to global knowledge and improving the health and well-being of the world around us. The work of faculty and staff in the social sciences was key in advancing the need for an Office of Community Engagement and for initiatives like the Research Shop.
In 2019, our faculty members conducted 68 community engaged research projects, addressing a diverse range of issues with more than 130 community partners.
We created an interactive map to share, foster, and advance community engaged research.
The Community Engaged Research Partnerships Map is a joint initiative between the Faculty of Social Sciences and McMaster University Library to showcase projects by our Faculty’s researchers and their local, regional, and international partners.
The information displayed is real-time data updated regularly from McMaster Experts.
