Vass Bednar named one of Globe and Mail’s 2023 Changemakers

The executive director of McMaster’s Master of Public Policy in Digital Society program was recently featured as one of 50 ‘Changemakers’ in one of Canada’s top publications.
Vass Bednar was unveiled as a recipient of the prestigious award, a who’s who of 50 emerging Canadian business leaders, in the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine on Feb. 24.
Bednar was thrilled to be included in the list. “I’m honoured by the recognition, and it’s flattering to be included on a list like this,” she said.
“I don’t know if I’m a changemaker,” she said modestly, “but I am certainly proud of being part of the conversation, and I’m relentlessly optimistic that change is both happening and possible.”
The report identified Bednar’s mission to make public policy accessible, understandable and fun. It singled out her newsletter, Regs to Riches, as a way to get Canadians talking about public policy regarding tech innovation.
